Vermont SEL Leaders PLC

Join Vermont's network of emerging SEL leaders.

Over the past two decades, the field of social-emotional learning (SEL) has rapidly evolved and expanded. According to a 2021 report by Tyton Partners, 95 percent of districts report that SEL is being adopted across all grades.

Not only is SEL a top strategic priority, but it’s also an emerging profession. School communities are recognizing the importance of building human systems that protect time for SEL and make it a priority. Many districts in Vermont are creating full-time central office positions for SEL; others are building entire divisions or offices of social-emotional learning.

In an effort to break down inter-district silos and help collectively advance the field of SEL across our state, the Vermont SEL Leaders PLC hopes to serve as a dedicated monthly space for district- and/or school-based professionals in Vermont who are in roles focused (broadly) on social and emotional learning to:

  1. Form community and build new networks between school communities;
  2. Learn from each other by sharing insights, best practices, and lessons learned, and;
  3. Hear from leaders across various state governmental agencies about important policy updates related to health and wellness.

Beginning in the summer of 2022, this professional learning community will meet (virtually) on a monthly basis. If you are interested in joining or learning more, you can complete this brief survey or fill out the form on the right side of the screen.
